Reaching Non-believers in Eastern Europe
Russian-speaking people in Eastern Europe and Central Asia have experienced a roller- coaster history of religious, political, and economic changes—not only in the past, but in recent years as well. These changes have left the younger generation without a sure foundation for facing life’s issues. Into this culture, Back to God Ministries Russian media ministry team proclaims the Good News from a solidly biblical perspective through radio, Internet, text message, and print materials, bringing renewed hope and a solid emphasis on the Gospel’s message for all of life.
The challenge of our Russian-language outreach is to strategically use a variety of media that effectively reaches diverse audiences. Our largest audience in major cities tends to be younger, technology-savvy intellectuals who have very little knowledge of the Bible. They are attracted to God’s Word through Internet and cell phone outreach. Older, more isolated Christians in rural and outlying regions depend on radio broadcasts for faith encouragement. “We use all opportunities to present the Gospel to our contemporary audience,” says ministry leader Rev. Sergei Sosedkin. “We are open and ready to use whatever tools the Lord gives us to proclaim His Word.”
