Christmas Devotional Distribution Surpasses 2010 Record
Praise God that our Portuguese ministry distributed a record 914,000 Christmas Cada Dia devotional booklets throughout Brazil. This year’s distribution surpasses last year’s record of 720,000 (see Christmas Outreach in Brazil.)
Each month LPC, Back to God Ministries Portuguese outreach, prints and distributes more than 20,000 Cada Dia booklets. But at Christmas, many who receive these monthly devotionals —as well as members of local congregations and several businesses—order a special Christmas version, Cada Dia Natal, to distribute as Christmas cards to friends, neighbors and business acquaintances.
LPC (Luz Para o Caminho—Light for the Way) partners with many churches on this project. Their goal is that those who received these booklets as gifts will subscribe to the monthly devotional and daily continue to seek God’s Word and His will. Several new churches and new companies joined in the effort this year.
Rev. Hernandes Dias Lopes, Portuguese ministry leader and director of LPC also sees this as an opportunity for evangelism. “My prayer is that those who distribute the Christmas devotional booklets can introduce people to the message of Jesus through God’s Word.”
Sizernando and Sueli own several dairy-related businesses in northern Brazil. This year they ordered 15,000 copies of the Christmas Cada Dia to distribute to employees, family and friends. They also organized a special evangelistic Christmas worship service for employees and business associates on December 14 in Ji-Paraná, a large city in the area. More than 2,000 people attended this service to hear Rev. Lopes speak, and many responded to God’s Word that day.
We won’t hear stories of all 914,000 individuals and families whose lives have been touched by this ministry. However, says Rev. Lopes, “We are very encouraged about the fast growth of this project in our country. Certainly there are many who work joyfully, sharing the good news of salvation through our devotional Cada Dia.”
