Christmas Outreach in Brazil
Every year LPC (Luz Para o Caminho), Back to God Ministries International Portuguese media outreach in Brazil, creates and distributes special Christmas devotional booklets called Cada Dia Natal. Praise God that this past Christmas friends and churches in Brazil distributed a record 720,000 copies of the Cada Dia devotional throughout Brazil!
One woman, who received a copy from her doctor, wrote, “I read the messages about Jesus and was moved to trust in Him.”
This year’s theme centered on the names of Jesus. The woman who wrote the letter noted that the specific message that touched her was the passage about Jesus, The Righteous Advocate, “because He is the advocate for the lost cause.”
“We are pleased to partner with the Presbyterian Church of Brazil on this project,” said Rev. Hernandes Dias Lopes, Portuguese ministry leader and director of LPC. He was also the author of the 2010 Cada Dia Natal. “My prayer is that those who distribute the Christmas devotional booklets can introduce people to the message of Jesus through God’s Word.”
LPC prints and distributes more than 26,800 Cada Dias each month, and the goal is to increase that number to reach at least 40,000 homes. Members of local congregations—and several businesses—ordered the Cada Dia Natal to distribute as Christmas cards to friends, neighbors and business acquaintances.
Rev Paulo Bronzeli, a pastor whose church participated in the distribution of the 2010 Christmas Cada Dia, wrote, “We wait, pray, work and see the hand of God as powerful, transforming the lives of all who will receive Cada Dia Natal. Praise the Lord and may the power of the Holy Spirit touch the hearts of many getting new life and transform them into new creatures in Jesus. I thank the team and I pray that God blesses you all.”
“We also hope those who receive the Christmas edition will subscribe to our daily Cada Dia devotional,” added Rev. Lopes. The response has been very encouraging! Sidnéa, who lives in Campos Goytacases, received a copy from a colleague at work. She called to sign up for an annual subscription, noting that it was a blessing in her life.
José works as a traveling salesman in the town of Ilha Solteira. One afternoon while working he received a copy of Cada Dia Natal, and took the booklet without looking at what it was. Later, at home, he began to read it, discovering that it was a devotional booklet. He shared the devotionals with his family, and then he also called to subscribe to the monthly Cada Dia. “Thank you so much for the great tool that I could share with my family,” he told the LPC staff.
Pray that all who received a copy of this special devotional will testify to Christ’s work in their hearts and lives.
