Are you an encourager looking for a way to share Christ with others? Do you have the gift of prayer? Whatever your gift, an opportunity to be the heart and hands of Jesus might be as close as your computer!
For sixty years, families and individuals have been blessed byToday devotionals, but now through the online version ofToday, readers have a new way to reach out to other readers, some who are hurting and need prayer or encouragement.
"Part of our prayer and goal for all our media is that the conversations flourish beyond just our team speaking to an audience," says Rev. Steven Koster, director of ReFrame Media, BTGMI's English language outreach. "We want to provide a way for web users to develop into a community of God's people ministering to each other."
A beautiful example of people encouraging others happened when Praveen read a December 2009ThisIsToday.net devotional by Pastor Reggie Smith, entitled "The Promise of the Spirit". Praveen wrote in the online comments section, "I do believe that the Spirit will connect me with Christ as mentioned [in the Today message]. But at times it becomes very difficult to see that the Spirit is with us-when everything around me is falling apart and I feel the guilt of sins and prayers not being answered. How do get in touch with the Spirit to get connected with Christ?"
Halene read that day's online devotional message, as well as Praveen's comment, and responded: "I believe God knows what you are thinking, even before you think it. If you are in his will, I believe your prayers will be answered. Remember he knows how many hairs are on your head at any given time." And another reader, Alanna, added: "Praveen, if you are a Christian, you already have the Spirit. It has been my experience that he is already speaking. We just need to learn how to listen."
This is ministry happening through today's social networking tools!
Each month thousands of people connect with the Gospel message through one of ReFrame Media's program websites, Facebook pages, or Twitter accounts. Hundreds leave a message, often asking for prayer, spiritual advice, or crying out for someone to understand. Others may be wrestling with a difficult passage and would benefit from a mature Christian who could help them understand God's Word from the Reformed perspective.
If you are looking for a way to make a difference in the life of someone searching for truth and hope, you can be part of ReFrame Media's social networking movement. Visit any of the eight ministry websites at ReFrame-Media.com. Then:
