William is an inmate serving a life sentence. Though there may be differences between many of us and William, there is one similarity. Each morning, in his cell, William starts his day by reading the scriptures and his copy of Today.

“Your Today devotional inspires me in God’s Word each and every day,” writes William.

William also facilitates a faith and character program for a group of 120 men serving time at the prison. He uses this opportunity along with his Today to spread the Gospel.

He explains, “I share the day’s devotion with my class every morning, and most times the devotion ties in to the lesson we are learning for the day.”

ReFrame Ministries distributes more than 13,500 copies of the devotional to prison inmates each month. Even more copies are sent in bulk through approximately 70 chaplains to share with inmates, as well.

Sister Mary Ann, a chaplain who works with women in a correctional facility, uses the Today as a tool to share the Good News. She says, “We especially appreciate [the Today] because of its usefulness to our ministry here. It is one of the few methods by which the women can receive nuggets of wonderful religious insight.”

Mary Ann also writes, “Please know that the women pray for you and your wonderful organization in their prayer group every Friday.” As those serving time are praying for us, let us too pray for them. Pray that they continue to be blessed by the Today and that as they share what they are learning others may come to know Christ.
